Donating in Memory

Ways to remember your loved one

Make a donation in memory of a loved one –

Thank you for remembering your loved one through a gift to Mosaic. It is through the kindness of supporters like you, and the love of friends and family, that we are able to continue supporting children and young people in Dorset.

There are a number of ways that you can do this, all helping to make sure that we are there to provide the same level of care and support for bereaved families in Dorset.

Regular Giving:

Regular donations make a huge difference to Mosaic, meaning we can plan with confidence, funding counselling sessions, bereavement cafes in Dorset schools and activity days for supported families. Mosaic can keep its vital service running, ensuring no child or young person is left without help when they need it most.

By choosing to give regularly, you’re not just donating money – you’re helping to build a support system that children can rely on, providing comfort, understanding and hope.

Events in Memory

Raising money by organising or taking part in an event or personal challenge can be a special way to involve others, bringing friends and family together to remember someone special.

Leave a gift in your will

Where there’s a Will there’s a way…

Leaving a gift to Mosaic, is a way of helping to support bereaved children and young people in years to come. Experiencing the death of a parent, sibling or loved one can have a long term effect on a young person and having support available for those who need it can help build resilience for future life events and relationships.

Making a will is important and it is only right that close family and friends come first but it can also be a chance to give much needed support to charities close to your heart. We understand that legacies can be a ‘taboo’ subject, one that none of us really want to think about but even a small gift can make a real difference.

Please consider leaving a gift to Mosaic and help a child at such a difficult time in their lives.

Why Should I Make a Will?

Getting started making a will is incredibly easy and vitally important. Without one, it will be left to the law to decide how your assets should be divided and it might not be what you want. We strongly recommend that you take professional advice when making your Will. Not only does it cost less than you might think but it will give you peace of mind and ensure that your wishes are carried out.

It Makes Sense

There are sound financial reasons for leaving a gift to charity. A charitable legacy is entirely FREE of Inheritance Tax.

A gift of 10% could help reduce your inheritance tax liability. Your financial advisor will be able to explain the benefits and how they might apply to your own circumstance.

Charitable legacies are a vital source of income for charities, amounting to around £2 billion each year. By leaving a gift you are helping the work of the charity to live on.

Funeral collections

Many families like to ask for donations to Mosaic instead of floral tributes at the funeral of a loved one or organise a funeral collection in honour of someone special.

If you would like some donation envelopes or collection tins for the funeral, please contact us on 01258 837071 or email info@mosaicfamilysupport.org and we will be happy to help. By using the envelopes, you could also raise up to 25% more as we can claim Gift Aid. (Find out more about Gift Aid here) Funeral Directors are usually happy to collect the envelopes on your behalf and send back to Mosaic. Alternatively, you can deliver the donations to the Mosaic office or arrange collection, but please do not send cash in the post.

Please let us know that your donation is being made in memory of a loved one and include their name/relationship to you. We would like the opportunity to express our gratitude to you – and your friends and family – for thinking of us.

If you have been asked to provide wording for the order of service, please see details below to help you:
