We receive around 10% of our funding through local authority, so our Mosaic team, volunteers and supporters have lots of work to do to raise money and organise events to ensure we continue to provide support to families in Dorset.

Miles for Mosaic – 2026
How can you get involved?
Would you like to be a part of ‘Miles for Mosaic’?
This year, we are looking for schools to be a part of Miles for Mosaic any time during the summer term after the Easter break.
Please choose any date that fits with your school calendar.
Get school (children & teachers!) organised to run for as long as you like – usually one afternoon – we would appreciate it if you count up the miles run by your school – and raise funds with a Just Giving page.
We can provide support with speaking to schools, pyramids, assemblies about the work of Mosaic, Just Giving help, charity banners, information about school Bereavement Cafes, and any other support you need.
In 2024, 14 schools in the Dorchester area ran ‘Miles for Mosaic’ to support the charity Mosaic – supporting bereaved children.
Adding up all the individual running distances, between teachers and pupils, 14 schools collectively ran 5,710 miles which equates to over 218 marathons or the distance of Dorchester to India! The wonderful school communities also raised over £10,000 to enable Mosaic to continue its work in Dorset.
Mosaic sees an increasing number of children each year and we need to work very hard to raise funds to continue to provide this support to families.
