A workshop to provide a basic understanding of the needs of bereaved children, along with the skills required to support children and young people with learning disabilities and Autistic Spectrum Disorders.
Learning Outcomes
To gain information on resources available.
To provide a basic knowledge of the perception of death for a child or a young person with learning difficulties and Autism Spectrum Disorders
To consider theories of loss and mourning in relation to children or young people with learning difficulties and Autism Spectrum Disorders
To develop greater confidence in providing support and clear communication about death with children or young people with learning difficulties and Autism Spectrum Disorders
To identify an awareness of our own needs as professionals and explore ways we can self-support
This workshop is suitable for individuals who have previously attended our 'Introduction to Child Bereavement' workshop or have attended a similar level of bereavement training.

Kindly funded by Ducks & Drakes Cancer Trust. Places are limited to 2 per organisation, per workshop and to 2 workshops per person. Further places can be booked at a cost of £85 per person.
