Mosaic welcomes a new CEO - November 2023

22nd November 2023

This week at Mosaic, we welcome Jo Revill, our new chief executive, who joins us with a fantastic background to bring Mosaic into 2024 and beyond.

Jo Revill,  formerly CEO of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health has started work in the charity which provides counselling and support to thousands of children, young people and their families across the county.  Her experience in building services to enable young people to lead healthier and happier lives includes working as a non-executive director of Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool, a global leader in child health innovation.

"The trustees are delighted to welcome Jo to Mosaic as CEO. She brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the charity along with passion and commitment to improving young peoples’ lives. We are looking forward to working with Jo as she further develops Mosaic’s offer to our children, young people and families."

from Karen Parnell, Chair of Trustees

Jo expressed her excitement about joining the team, based in Milborne St Andrew, to meet its mission of offering care and help to young people, often at the most vulnerable point in their lives, and thanked organisations and companies for all the support they have given to Mosaic in the past few years.

“I am looking really forward to working with our amazing dedicated staff, army of volunteers and trustees over the coming years to ensure that we can continue to meet the needs of so many children and families. Our work is unique and essential, and we are lucky to be part of a rich network of charities and bodies across Dorset who do so much for families, often in very difficult circumstances."

She added:
“I wanted to say a big thank you to Cathy for all the help she has given me during this period, and she leaves Mosaic in a really healthy position.  I know she will still be part of our Mosaic family and continue to contribute her knowledge and skills.”

Comment from the trustees:

"We are very grateful to Cathy for all her work at Mosaic and wish her every success in her new role."

Ms Revill paid tribute to Cathy Gilpin who steps down as Head of Operations, a role which she has held for the past 18 months in order to pursue new ventures.

Ms Revill, who grew up and went to school in Dorchester, began her career as a newspaper journalist, working for the London Evening Standard and the Observer as a health editor.  She worked as a special adviser to the Labour minister Alan Johnson when he was Health Secretary, and then moved into senior management.  Jo was CEO at the British Society for Immunology and then the RCPCH, where she ran services supporting thousands of paediatrician in the UK and abroad, helping them to campaign for the health of young people during Covid.
